Command bar to Ribbon

Is this a difference between excel 2010 and excel 2000 or do I need to learn more?

Working with Excel 2010 and I have gotten a menu to work with the ribbon. The problem is that when a new/other excel sheet is opened the menu is no longer visible. The Menu is only visible in that one worksheet.

In excel 2000 I had created a menu off the commandbar . After the first sheet with added command button was opened other sheets opened would also show the button as well.

Any way to get excel 2010 to work the same way?

coming to the end of my ribbon...

I'm with you on this one brother. I have a bunch of custom toolbar stuff in 2003 but it all just gets destroyed with no hope in 2007/2010.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do I believe. I want to make the switch but it will just slow me down. and in my opinion 2007 sucks terribly.

2010 looks promising though.

I do like some of the new features in 2010 such as the dynamic menu. I wish there was dynamic group or dynamic ribbon (command bar) but that isnt a deal killer. Maybe the answer I am looking for would be to add menus to the QAT (quick Access Toolbar). Il let you know what I find out.

Hi, MarkV!

Maybe this helps:

You have a 15 day full feature trial period. And that doesn't mean you have 2 weeks to find a crack for it! That wouldn't be fair.

Regards!

Thanks SirJB7

I did come across that option but I would really like to use the default 2010 setup and just set up a custom menu that works with excel in each sheet that is opened up.

I am looking for a solution that I would use at work so I will not be cracking anything.

I have found the Quick access Toolbar more useful than that option since you can make a toolbar and add any button you like. It is really easy to use and it can be exported and imported to set up multiple workstations the same way.

sorry if this was already posted somewhere else, but I found this Tool to be a great resource when converting from 2003 to 2007.

Graphically shows exactly where to find a command using Ribbon - just need to select using old (2003) method thru Excel Menus.

Sorry MarkV but without any tool, I see my 2003 toolbars (.xla) in one of the 2007 ribbon's menus !

In fact in the last one (his translated name : Complements) which I see the personal toolbars …
