Chart not updating...

Hi all experts,

I have a problem about charting...
I set my calculation to manual;
I have created a simple bar & line chart;
I use F9 to recalculate the spreadsheet;
All the cells are updated; however the chart is not (even though the data linked to the chart was updated too).
The only way I can update the chart is the select the chart follow by F9...

Any idea???
Appreciate your advise.

That does not sound right at all. Can you upload your file by any chance so we can see the problem.

Hi WMF,

Put your data as Format as table option and then create chart. Formulas and chart automatically updates when you entered new data.

thanks for your comments.

the file is too big to be shared.
I'd search on the web about the topic and I believe that I am the only one who encountered this problem.
I am an advanced user and I had made may dynamic charts before.

I tried many possible ways, e.g. F9, CRTL ALT F9, or even by code like Calculate and RefreshAll..., all these methods successfully update the data, but not the chart linked to the data. Thus I am wondering if this is actually something else more advanced than what I know from a user's perspective.

hi, Hui, my file is in the office. I will post it later. but it's >30M, I think I need to extract just the part with the problem for easy reference.

It'd be great if you could resize it as much as possible, as long as the issue doesn't require a huge amount of data to be tested and analyzed. If greater than 1Mb use any cloud service (preferably DropBox) for sharing it.

Hi All,
The problem has been solved.
I think the worksheets did not perform the calculation as I expected. After setting the calculation by using the follow code "Sheetx.calcuate", the chart updates accordingly.
