cant get KEI formula B2^2/(C2) to work

Hi

I haven't used excel much before. All I kept getting was a zero in the cell D2 and then D3 where answer should appear as I selected those cells. I got this formula to work in one of the D columns where the result is meant to appear but only after messing about and trying to put the formula in the formula box and also in the cell where I wanted the answer to appear - now I keep getting zeros. I am not sure how to make this work but it seems there is nothing intuitive about using Excel.

Any help please because the amount of time I have spent I could have calculated the answers and written them in by hand quicker.

Thanks

Bard

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org forums

KEI - Keyword Efficiency Index

Your formula should be =(B2^2)/C2

Hi, bard!

I just wrote =B2^2/C2 with a value of 10 in B2 and a value of 5 in C2 and it displayed 20, which it's right. If original values are not in B2:C2 range, please adjust them propoerly within formula.

No parenthesis needed. Exponentiation operator has higher priority than division, so you can write it straight. Besides that, both the formula of your topic and Hui's formula display the same value as mine, for the given examples.

Regards!
