Bubble chart different color

Karlkani

New Member
Dear Community,

This is my first thread in this forum and I hope someone can help me (i attached the xls file):

I am trying to create from a table (Stakeholder-Analyse) a bubble chart which should represent 2 quantitative dimensions (y:Influence, z Impact(bubble size) and one dimension Type of Stakeholder (column G). I used a Template with a Macro.

Type of Stakeholder should be represented through the colors of the bubbles:

e.g. green for "sell"

yellow for "report"

orange for "join"

and blue for "tell"

and that from G8 until G20

but i dont know how to do it...Does anybody has a solution?

Thanks

Thanks for the link narayank ;)

I tried it but it's doesn't work on my sheed. I always get error.

does anybody else has a solution? I feel so stupid.

Hi ,

I tried the technique given there , on your workbook , and it worked !

What you need to do is use 4 different series , in 4 different columns , say I , J , K and L.

At present , your chart has only one series :

=SERIES(,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$A$8:$A$15,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$E$8:$E$15,1,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$F$8:$F$15)

where :

X values are in column A

Y values are in column E

Bubble size is based on the values in column F.

Instead of just one series using the bubble size based on the values in column F , use 4 separate series in columns I , J , K and L.

In I7 enter the text sell , in J7 enter report , in K7 enter tell , and in L7 enter join.

In I8 enter the following formula :

=IF($G8=I$7,$F8,NA())

Copy this down and across.

In your chart , introduce 4 series based on the data in columns I , J , K and L.

Now select the data in column G.

Your 4 series will be :

=SERIES(,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$A$8:$A$15,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$E$8:$E$15,1,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$I$8:$I$15)

=SERIES(,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$A$8:$A$15,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$E$8:$E$15,2,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$J$8:$J$15)

=SERIES(,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$A$8:$A$15,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$E$8:$E$15,3,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$K$8:$K$15)

=SERIES(,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$A$8:$A$15,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$E$8:$E$15,4,'Stakeholder-Analyse'!$L$8:$L$15)

maybe I explained wrong what i want to do, sorry for my english (new link, new sheed)

http://www.2shared.com/document/NPTU6XlE/Stake.html

I want when i change the Type of Stakeholder in G8 (from sell to report) the color who I define before, shoult change in the bubble chart too. And that from G8 until G20

And thank you Hui for your sheed ;)

but the color doesnt change...(when i change the Type of stakeholder from sell to report, in the bubble chart nothing happens)

Hi ,

I think it may have to do with the separators ; what is the syntax of your IF statement ?

=IF(condition_is_true,action_if_true,action_if_false)

or

=IF(condition_is_true;action_if_true;action_if_false)

Good day Kalkani

I Apologise for not posting the link, late in the day :(

http://chandoo.org/forums/topic/bubble-charts-differnt-color-for-each-frequency-count.

Hi ,

Sorry , my mistake , that should have read :

=IF(condition_to_be_checked,value_if_true,value_if_false)

or

=IF(condition_to_be_checked;value_if_true;value_if_false)

Anyway , you have clarified that the separator in your IF statement is the semi-colon ";" rather than the comma ",".

Do you get an error with the following IF statement ?

=IF($G8=I$7;$F8;NA())

If you do get an error , does it mean that your version of Excel does not have the NA() function ?

Narayan

You dont need to apologise bobhc :) the link is great ;)

Thank you so much Narayank. Finaly Works everything ;) Im so happy ;)

Hey Community :)

I did somthing stupid with my solved Exel workbook and saved it.

So the colors of my bubbles doesnt have different colors anymore in conection to type of stakeholder (column E). If i change it from sell to report nothing happens.

Does anybody has a solution again? sorry

Hi ,

Check your file here :

http://www.2shared.com/document/LdDWqfCt/Stakeholder-Analyse_2.html

There was only one series , where you needed to have 4.
