Hello to all,

I have filtered on a column and I don't want the whole column to copy and pasted to a different column, only I need filtered values.

I press F5 to go To Go dialog box and select only visible cell.

I copy the area that i need and then go to F5 to visible cells and then I need to pasted the values to some other column in the same sheet. it doesn't work.

Thanks,

Guity

Good day GGGGG

You need to copy AFTER you select visible cells

1. Select the cells that you want to copy.

2. On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Find & Select, and then click Go To.

3. In the Go To dialog box, click Special.

4. Under Select, click Visible cells only, and then click OK.

5. On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click Copy.

6. Select the upper-left cell of the paste area.

7. On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click Paste .

Hi Bobhc..

I think OP wants.. In filter list..

when filter is applied..

* copy A3,A7,A11,A12.. which are in showing as visible cells..

* wants to paste the same in C3,C7,C11,C12.. without de-filter...

Hi, GGGGG!

I followed the steps described by b(ut)ob(ut)hc and I succeeded.

- set proper filters on any number of columns of the range

- select filterd cells

- F5 (or Home tab, blah, blah, ...)

- check Visible Cells Only

- OK (you'll note a selection with many areas with dash bordered)

- Ctrl-C copy

- select target

- Ctrl-V paste

And it works.

Regards!

PS: Now reading Debraj Roy's comment, if you'd selected rows 2, 3, 5 & 7 from 1st ten, and you want to copy 2 of source in 1 of target, 3 in 2, 5 in 3 & 7 in 4, either b(ut)ob(ut)hc method or mine works. Now if you want to get target 1, 4, 3, 8, 9 & 10 in blank or unchanged, and source 2 copied in target 2, 3 in 3, 5 in 5 and 7 in 7, then you'll have to use VBA code.

It doesn't work, unless my filter to be turned on the first row.

I cannot send you the screen shot....

But my filter is turned on only on one of the columns and filter is placed on the second row, not on the first row.

Hope this is clear.

Hi GGGGG,

You can try using short cut key ALT + ; to copy only visible cells.

1. Select the range to be copied.

2. Press ALT + ; and then press CTRL + C to copy

3. Paste the selected range to the desired sheet or column.

It works fine.

Thanks & Regards,

Hello team,

This didn't work me and I had to redo my project since some of these were pasted wrong.

If the range is right under the filter, it would work, otherwise, it wouldn't work.

Hi, GGGGG!

Consider uploading a sample file (including manual examples of desired output if applicable), it'd be very useful for those who read this and might be able to help you. Thank you. Give a look at the green sticky posts at this forums main page for uploading guidelines.
