Array formula problem

jb

I have one self updating table which is available in attached excel file with a yellow cell background.

I want to know meaning of ROWS($A1:$A$1) used at end of formula.

I have insert some rows before this calculation. Instead of of 5 to 49 rows now it is from 95 to 139.

I have inserted some column between B and C columns. Now C column went to Q column.

I tried to change formula as per new locations but it is not giving answer. I have pressed ctrl+shift+enter in cell after making changes to make a array formula.

Which corrections are required in formula to apply it on new locations?

ROWS function returns the number of rows within the range given. By having one points "locked" as an absolute reference on A1, and the other relative, as you drag this formula down, it will evaluate to 1, then 2, then 3, etc.

If you inserted some rows, my guess would that you need to change it back to ROWS($A1:$A$1)

Attached workbook appears to be working...is there something wrong with it?

Hi ,

I inserted rows and columns in your initial file , and everything seems to be OK.

What is the problem with your file ?
