Adding XY scatter and Bar charts to existing chart

I'm on step #5 on:

http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/09/10/kpi-dashboards-graphs-excel/

I don't understand this:

1. "add two additional XY-scatter-series to the chart, representing the minimum and the maximum of the total data and assign them to the secondary axis"

When you plot the MIN, what is it being plotted against, the values from 1 - 10? How do you assign to the secondary axis?

2. "add 2 additional bar series to the chart, again representing the minimum and the maximum of the total data and assign them to the primary axis"

When you plot the MIN, what is it being plotted against, the values from 1 - 10? How do you assign to the secondary axis?

Right click on the new series on the chart,
Format Data Series
On the Series Options Tab, select Plot Series on Secondary Axis

Right click on the new series on the chart,
Format Data Series
On the Series Options Tab, select Plot Series on Secondary Axis
Hui,

Thank you for your reply. I tried that. I did a right click on the Average bar (vertical) and the box with "plot series on" is grayed out. I can't select either Primary or Secondary axis. Do you know what I might have done to cause this?

I forgot to ask something very important. What is the purpose of graphing MIN/MAX Bar graphs and XY Scatter charts? The website mentions something about how the bars "jump" when you scroll, but I don't think that is happening.

Right click on the new series on the chart,
Format Data Series
On the Series Options Tab, select Plot Series on Secondary Axis

Now I'm trying to add those MIN/MAX values again with copy and paste special, but this time, when I attempt to do paste special, nothing is added to the chart. Any ideas why this is? Column AQ with values 1 - 10 does not have a field heading. It is still blank. If I put a heading name then plotting will work. But why doesn't it work, when there is no heading?

Would it be possible to post your workbook? That would let us see where you're at, and what part is getting messed up?
