I am getting blank excel sheet, every time i open excel. I need to manually check every time grid lines and enable it?

It sounds like you have saved a template which is over riding the default settings
Find your default template which will be in
Excel 2000 - C

Excel 2003 - Crogram FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice 11XLStart
Excel 2007 (Vista) - Crogram FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice 12XLStart
Excel 2007 (Win 7) - Crogram Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice12XLSTART
Open the file
Change the Gridlines to what you want
and re-save the file making note to save the file as an Excel Template
If there aren't other settings in the file you want, you could just delete the existing file and the defaults will return
