16 box Talent Grid Help

Hi All

I am struggling to adapt this to what I need as my excel skills aren't great:

https://chandoo.org/forum/attachments/9-box-chart-xlsx.31507/

What I need is a 16 box version with 'Potential' on the horizontal axis labelled P1 to P4 and 'Performance' on the vertical access labelled A to D. I would then like the employees names to appear in the relevant box on the grid.

I also need to go one step further and be able to filter by job title.

Please help!

Kind Regards

Amanda

Thanks vletm

That is great but is there a way of adding data labels to the dots (with the person's name) and separate the dots out where there are more than one in a box?

For example, in one box, I have 19 people to fit in!

Really appreciate your help :)

That is great but is there a way of adding ...
hmm? How it can be great if at once needs to change?
... I added names.
... separate the dots out where there are more than one in a box?
hmm? ... There are 16 boxes and 19 people
If one people can use one box then
... then there are too many people for those boxes!
You would use large scale for those points to get people 'around' those boxes.

Hi @vletm , would also appreciate if you could teach me the formula for the xy scatter chart for this table for 160 persons.

What kind of results are You looking for?
You have scales ... from 1 to 3 or what?
Do You use 9 box-grid as in Your snapshot (thread is 16box-grid)?
Hmm? ... for xy scatter, to show eg 'dots' ... You could use Your above values at once.

I have scales from 1 to 3 and I use 9box grid. Can you teach me the formula that I can use to make the xy scatter chart? The one that I snapshot is the example from other thread that I read here. I don't know if I can use use that for 160people.

Something like this?
Thanks Vlet. Exactly. However, I like the Names next to them, so mind sharing how to add them?
Also, I'd like to customize say by Job Role (Sr vs Jr) and the size of the dot/circle can illustrate pay grade, for instance. Any way I can conditionally do that? Thanks in advance

You select series one-by-one and modify markers as dots.
I actually like the way you have differentiated (squares, triangles and circles and colors) and would like to use them for other variables like pay grade, title, dept, etc., Thanks again Kennedy
