Hi all.
What is the easiest way to get Excel to use the result of a formula to find the correct row in a table, and then copy the cell contents of a cell in that table row? In short, I need it to look at a formula result (e.g. "L17), find the specific row in a table that has "L17", and then...
Hi Chihiro.
Have tried out your formula and it works a treat thanks! I have been doing these calculations by hand up until now (besides being rather laborious, I was always worried that I'd overlook some instances), and the formula results are a perfect symmetry to those findings.
I'm looking...
I can, but it's nothing really that you can't replicate very quickly yourself - Column A has the event unique ID number (e.g. 1 - 300), Column B has the event date and Column C has the names.
The events are all unique (each has a different ID and date), but the same people appear multiple...
Hi.
I have a spreadsheet database consisting of a series of events, each of which has a unique identifying number and a date. I also have a list of names of people who have attended these events.
Is there a formula anyone can give me that will allow me quickly to determine the longest periods...
Hi all.
May I be as bold as to resurrect this post again (more than two years later), because I'd like to modify NARAYANK991's excellent formula in post #11 to include another additional criterion and haven't been able to get it to work as required myself.
I've incorporated the formula into...
Thanks Vivek.
You're probably 100% right - I know I'm currently violating a lot of general database principles with my speadsheet setup, but I've never managed to get Access to work satisfactorily for me and I like the formula options that Excel gives me.
I'll definitely give your idea of...
Hi. Getting very frustrated and would really appreciate some help from the Excel ninja gurus please!
I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet being used as a database, which includes inter alia a range of columns containing numbers. When originally entering the data I left blank cells in these...
Never mind - I think it was the useless excuse for a laptop that I'm using! I restarted it and tried again, and this time when I double-clicked an embedded spreadsheet it opened with the full Excel ribbon available. Go figure!
Hi.
I have embedded thousands of fully-functional Excel spreadsheets into Word documents over the years, but have now suddenly hit a blank. For no rhyme or reason though, when I now double-click an embedded spreadsheet I suddenly am no longer getting the usual Excel ribbon displayed.
Can't...
Wish I could share the response from the client for whom this application was created - suffice it to say there are a lot of exclamation marks and words like "brilliant" and "awesome" thrown around! Thanks guys - you made a difference here!!
Narayan, never mind about the code for the loop...
This won't let me post the existing code for some reason.
Your latest version pops up an Excel dialogue box with just the wording "CheckBox1" in it as soon as I click the command button to run the code.
Thanks Naranyan.
They are indeed form control checkboxes, but the program seems to have a problem with the word "checkboxes" in the "For i = 1 To .CheckBoxes.Count" line.
Also, is it not necessary to include the final i number somewhere (i.e. from 1 to 48)?
You guys are so beyond awesome it's not even true!! That works exactly as I require it to. Thanks beyond words!!
Narayan, I don't know how to code the loop for CheckBox1 through to CheckBox48, so if you are willing to provide that in the interests of efficiency it would be terrific. In the...
Thank you so much!
The debugger seems to have an issue with the "strclipboard = Txtuserfree.Text & Chr(10)" line when I run it though - am I supposed to customise this line somehow, or just paste it in verbatim?
Also what do you mean by "concatenate the text"? Can I not just copy your first...
Sorry, I guess it'd be far easier if I posted a link to the actual spreadsheet so that you can see what I'm talking about (and hopefully practice proposed solutions on ;))! Will upload and send a link later.
Hi all.
I have create a UserForm with 47 checkboxes on it, each obviously with a different caption, as well as a textbox for user free text entry. The requirement is that a user enters text (a policy number) into the text box, selects however many of the checkboxes apply to it and then clicks...
