vLookup array formula

Hi Guys,

Further to this post: http://chandoo.org/wp/2010/11/08/vlookup-array-formula/ I am wondering how best to adapt the below formula to bring back the average between two specified dates?

{=AVERAGE(VLOOKUP(A7,Summary!A:M,{?????????},FALSE))}

Using the data table picture at the top of above mentioned example, say I have name JIMMY in col. a and start date JUN in col. b and end date DEC in col c. I want the answer to come back 30.85

How best to achieve this???
