Question on conditional formatting

There are a few rules set up that switch the formatting for our file for every month. One turns the font red. Well, my colleague manually changed the colors to red last month for future months, and now they stay red even though the conditional formatting would say to turn them back to default (automatic) which would be black. Is there a way to get these to turn black once the month changes (instead of staying red)? Ay yi yi

I would but unfortunately it's a work file :/ and it's many tabs that all link together so I can't really modify it to share yet.

Can you just select the cell(s) and manually remove the fill (or set it back to Automatic)

Then the CF will take back over and be able to do its job.

Also, if you hit F5 bring up the GoTo dialogue, click Special. You can then select Conditional Formatting. This can sometimes help to see where people have messed up your files.
