Live Data on a Chart?

Is there a way to insert text in a chart that references a spreadsheet, so it changes when spreadsheet value changes? Thanks!

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

Yes


Add a new data series to the chart
Then add data labels to the Series
Then set the color of the Series to None

The Y Values of the series will determine the Locations of the text

Can you post a sample file for a more specific solution

What version of Excel are you using?

Brilliant idea. I'll play around with it. I'm using Microsoft Standard Office 2010. Is there a better version for charts?

2013 allows Chart Labels to be linked directly to another range which holds the labels

In 2010 it has to be done manually

I use Rob Bovey's XY_Chart labeller for charts under version 2013
