How to 'switch' cell labels in Excel.

Cell A1 has the label Emp_Name.
In cell B1 i accidentally key Hours_Worked instead of Date_Worked.
In cell C1 i key in Date_Worked.
Now i would like to 'switch' the labels so that B1 becomes Date_Worked and C1 becomes Hours_Worked. This is the order i would like on my sheet.
So i select cells B1 & C1 hoping to find a 'switch' option under Paste_Special.
There's no option like that.
Re-typing is no big deal.
But i was hoping to do a 'switch'.
Thank you for a solution.

This looks awesome, except that I can't for the life of me get it to do it. I can't get the symbol that looks like a capital "I" to show up. Is there a trick I'm missing.

Thank you!

Gary

Hi Gary,

You have to press Shift while dragging, a I comes on cell vertical grid line that means the swapping will take place horizontally and when |--| horizontal I comes on cell horizontal grid line that means vertical swap.

You can swap whole row and column like this.

Hey thanks a load Somendra Misra.
That's not only brilliant, that's super brilliant.
I got it. First the '5 fingers'. Next the 'clenched fist'. Then the 'I.
