But of course then you wont be notified of new and upcoming posts and papers?

Registering is a small price to pay for something that is free

I do not want to sound like a free rider, taking advantage of other people's work.
I really appreciate effort & time put into creating something useful for the world.

But nowadays when we search on Google/Youtube there are so many things that are readily available.
So even a small step of registration felt like a big step to me...
