Data labels Percentage together

PSG

Member
Hi All,

I would like to know is it possible to have data labels & their repective percentage together in column or bar chart.

For example 5,10,15 & 20 is my series. I want to show my data label as 5 (10%), 10 (20%), 15 (30%) & 20 (40%) respectively.

Thanks in advance for looking into this!

You can show whatever you want in the data label. The trick is generating the information. =)

For your case, next to your data, you'll need some helper cells with formula similar to:

=SeriesName & " (" & TEXT(SeriesValue/TotalValueOfAllSeries,"##%") & ")"

Once you've got all those cells setup, we simply need to link them to the chart.

Referencing the one of Jon Peltier's articles (http://peltiertech.com/WordPress/link-chart-text-to-a-cell/), about half way down you'll see a note about linking data labels and some free add-in's, which I recommend.

Either way, you'll want to add some data labels (pick anything to start), and then link the data label to the cell.

You guys Luke, Hui & our Chandoo are real champ!

I knew I would have never got the solution so fast else where.
