I have been managing many things through MS Excel and now i want to hire some people who are good at excel.

Is there any certification or accredation of professionals in excel which are recognised at national / international level so that i can specify it in my RFQ.

I've found certificates that tell me about peoples Excel skills worth about as much as the paper there made of.


What most people call advanced Excel Training I would classify at just under middling in terms of peoples knowledge of Excel. The important things is not knowing Excel, it is the application of the knowledge to real world problems and trust me the two are different.


You are better to setup a few small tests that candidates can complete in say 20 minutes, that test the areas of Excel that you expect a candidate to be proficient in.
 
I would stay away from 3rd party certs, they could good to help you learn more, but I would just go with a cert actually from microsoft.

They offer 2 excel tests, one is specialist and one is an expert. If you have any sort of experience with excel, the expert will be a breeze. The test isnt very hard and it's relatively cheap.
