Y-axis data labels

I’ve got an interesting one – I hope its relatively simple for the big brains on this forum.

I have a bar chart, pretty standard, with text labels (as opposed to numbers) on my y-axis. Excel by default left-aligns these labels.

My client wants me to do the following:

1) Right-align these data labels

2) Indent certain labels

3) Bold/underline the labels

4) Colour the labels

This is a drawing – of what we have vs what we want. (My photoshop skills are as good as my excel skills!) http://www.gerry.co.za/pics/chart.gif

I’ve not done any VB before, so I’m scared that I’ll have to delve into that – but if i have to, so be it!

Thanks everyone

Gerry

Not sure how the alignment requirement fits with indenting scenario, but you could create a custom y-axis using Jon's technique here (no VB!):

Bascially, you use a dummy series to create the labels. The advantage here is that you can individually format series labels (bold, underline, color) as well as change the position alignment.
