I wonder if someone would be so kind as to give me some orientation on how to make a tool to write gamebooks with excel and word.
A gamebook is a book that you play while you read it. Each section has a little bit of story and then a decision for you, the player, to make. Your decision takes you to another numbered section of the book, where you read the story that results from your action.
Some ideas that I have in mind for this tool :
1) It would allow to randomize sections(paragraphs), detect typed paragraphs that have been written in, and whether they have been finished or not, detect orphan paragraphs (no paragraphs lead there), detect death paragraphs (paragraphs that do not lead anywhere), detect reserved paragraphs which do not lead anywhere yet but another paragraph leads there.
2) Possibility of writing the story building a map or flow chart where each node is a section.
3) Create player stats, test your game from any section being able of altering stats and changing routes(sections)
4) Export to .doc and .html ready to publish.
I'd really appreciate any help to get me going on the right track.
