My company launched 6 new products in April 2016, my boss wanna keep checking the sales performance for these 6 new products. He ask me to prepare a bar chart which can show the sales performance "by month" and "by product".

I know how to make a chart, but I have no idea how to prepare a interactive bar chart for him (he prefers something like pull-down menu to select the month or the specific product) ?:(

I have attached the sample file, would expert can give me a hand?

Hi Bear,

I would say the first step is to make sure the raw data is being input in a table format. Your example has the inputs scattered all over, which will make complex analysis much harder. There are really 3 fields of data: Data, Product, and Sales. Everything else can be calculated from those. To start, I'd suggest putting the items in a PivotTable. This will easily do all the math operations for you, so you don't have to think too hard. It also has built-in filters and drop-downs, which should please your boss. Here's how I'd mock-up a chart to show sales volume and overall percentage.
