What people with older Excel will see if I give them Pivot with Data Model?

Hello,

So, I have Excel 2013 at my workplace and I needed to make a huge table that counts distinct clients based on various parameters, with subtotals and totals. Thankfully, if you add your data to Data Model in Excel 2013, you get an option to do just that in pivot table.

However, I'm aware that some of the people here are still using Excel 2007/2010 (with no power pivot installed), I wonder what will they see? Will my pivot it be automatically converted to static table for them? They will see actual numbers until they do something with pivot table (I remember that was they case with 2010 features when working with pivot in 2007)? Will they just see big blank square saying 'use newer excel'?

Sorry, I forgot about it!

Is it the same as in 2013 or newer? Grand total equals 5?
And are filters usable?

Because I remember back in the days when I was using some newer pivot features of 2010, it would reset to default calculations for 2007 users as soon as they make any actions.

Xen,
For 2007 it might be difficult. See https://powerpivotpro.com/2010/12/powerpivot-for-excel-2007/
Else, since the data model is part of the excel workbook, everything made with power pivot will work. Those having an older version, or not having Power Pivot add-on installed will not be able to do any action in the power pivot model via the Power Pivot window.
Now if you have used features like hierarchies or KPIs, available as of 2013 in PP, they are not compatible with version 1 of PP, which is used in Excel 2010. Also some DAX functions did not exist in v1, like DISTINCTCOUNT.
This is ... for so far I know. Not so black or white, but more like shades of grey.
Sharing via SharePoint is often suggested as solution. But also SP needs to be configured for it by your IT.
