Volatile Functions

MWS

I have a rather large Excel based model which is starting to run sluggishly. I use OFFSET within the model and suspect that it may be the main culprit, but before I make any structural changes, my question is: Does the use of pivot table slicers trigger volatile related sluggishness?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

PS - This site is an excellent resource!!!

Thank You

Yes, slicer selection change (i.e. pivottable update) will trigger volatile functions to recalculate.

If you are using OFFSET for a dynamic range, try an INDEX/MATCH combination which is not volatile
