Vlookup Is Not Reading Data

Data has numeric values in each cell and each cell has a smart green tag.
All this is in a single column. Lets say, J2:J2000
So how do i get rid of the green tags, in order to get Vlookup working.

Hi James

The Green tags are probably just telling you that it is a number stored as text. The lookup item is probably a number. You need to compare like for like with Vlookup. So highlight the col with the Green there should be a warning symbol at the top - click on it now choose - Convert to Number. Alternatively just put this in the column next to

=A2*1

and drag down. The copy paste special values.

Or you can simply "convert" your lookup value to text as well:
=VLOOKUP( ""& B2 , A2:A14 , 1 , FALSE)
