Very Strange Behaviour

Hi All,

I have a strange one... I am on a fully protected Sheet A... and I double click on any cell and I get the usual warning... "The cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected... etc..." and then I click "Ok"... THEN the strange behaviour kicks in...

On clicking "Ok" a different sheet B is activated and column M:M of sheet B is highlighted as if I have selected it...

I have clicked another cell (ie. not column M) in sheet B... return to Sheet A and double click again... again I get the protect sheet warning and as soon as I click on "Ok" again I am returned to Sheet B and again column M is highlighted...

Sheet A is fully protected - Sheet B was UNprotected. I repeated the process with Sheet B protected and Sheet B still gets activated following the warning on Sheet A but this time the only difference is that column M is not highlighted as if selected.

There is no Code associated with either Sheet A or Sheet B at all...

There are many other sheets in the spreadsheet... and unfortunately the xlsm is far too large to upload.

What on earth is going on here ?!!! Any clues as to why because I need to stop this happening.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions to check out.

Hi !

Thinking first there is a code, event one in ThisWorkbook or a worksheet module !
'Cause workbook saved as .xlsm means code within, then it's a very normal behavior !

So try to save it as a normal workbook in .xlsx format (no code possible within this format !) …

If really nothing else to declare, maybe the workbook is corrupted.
Restart computer and launch Excel alone to verify …
