vba to password protect pdf files

Hi,

I have around 1700 pdf files related to payroll. (850 pairs of pdf files)
Each employee has 2 files which has to be password protected with same password which is updated in an excel database.

Can we have a macro in place to assign the passwords to the pdf files.

I have a macro which copies both files of each employee to a folder and then zips the folder and then password protects it. This had worked successfully but my employees are not comfortable with winzip. Hence now I need to send them password protected pdf files without zipping.

Can someone please help me on this.
