Using only selected data in a Slicer connected to a Pivot table

Hello Everyone,

Firstly thank you for a incredible resources of information, love this site!

This is my first post here so please be gentle!

My Issue:

I've created a Pivot table connecting it to a bug database (SQL)

If I collate some data for the overall project that is fine and if I want to select say only 4 people I use the drop down filter and only show data for them.

The problem I have is when I make a Slicer I have no options to show just the four.

The slicer will list everything for that field in it's database. In the slicer settings I can adjust it so people/or things that are not valid or no longer active are listed at the end of the slicer list.

But I cannot see a way to customise the Slicer further to show only the options I want, say just the four people.

Has anyone found a workaround for this at all?

Many Thanks

Hi, Sabian!

I'd recommend you to read the three first green sticky topics at this forums main page. There you'll find general guidelines about how this site and community operates (introducing yourself, posting files, netiquette rules, and so on).

Among them you're prompted to perform searches within this site before posting, because maybe your question had been answered yet.

Feel free to play with different keywords so as to be led thru a wide variety of articles and posts, and if you don't find anything that solves your problem or guides you towards a solution, well, come back here, tell us what you've done, consider uploading a sample file as recommended, and somebody surely will read your post and help you.

BTW, I think everybody here is gentle. Apart from me. Joke. Joke? ... It's not me who should answer that.

Regards!
