Update Values from Closed Workbook

Dear All...


I have a file namely" 04X List 05April LATEST", and in that files some of the cells to be updated from another work book namely"087,04X,05E,08F-RFQ & DWG DATA".I am updating this values through VLOOKUP function. To update the values i have to open the linked file. Now i wish to create a macro which will update the values without open the linked file. I wish to create a button, by clicking that, the values should be fetched from that file.


Any help would be highly appreciated.

This is an old problem , which has been resolved by what is known as the PULL function written by Harlan Grove. Just Google this and you can download the code from a lot of sites.

Thank you Narayank, but the information which i have got by searching doesn't meet my criteria, whether i can't understand the code or the procedure.
