Unlocking Form Control

I have taken one of the incell panel charts as a template and have been modifying it to suit my needs...everything working except, I cannot get the form control in cell H4 to unlock so I can better format it.


Additionally, I want to essentially copy and paste it through several categories like in G24 where it should pick up C25:G25 as choices for sorting. How can I do this?

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by "getting the form control in cell H4 to unlock so I can better format it". What form are you referring to?.

I downloaded your file, played with the 6 available values in H4 cell (lstVendors), got table sorted an proper column heading in row 5 selected.

Could you please elaborate a bit more? Thank you.

Should I not be able to right click the box in H4 so I can size it in a similiar manner to the sample up in L2?


How do I edit the box in G24 so that I can sort that 2nd table on the choices in C25:g25? Currently it is based upon the C5:H5 selections.

H4:


There is no box in H4 cell, H4 cell is just a cell with data validation set to a list (lstVendors) and that's why it appears aside the little down arrow. L2 cell is empty. What you have "over" L2:R2 is a form control list drop down box, which is rather different.


As you can freely change the control you can't freely change the "list" in H4 cell, for this you have to format H4 cell (or row 4 or column 8) so as to make it looks like you want.


G24:


Create a new named range called lstWhatsoever ranging from Legend!$B$10:$B$14. Change G24 cell, Data Validation, list source to this new list. Create new CF (conditional formatting) rules for C25:G25, duplicating and adapting those of C5:H25.
