Trying to find triangle symbol for conditional formatting example

Dear Forum,
I've been practicing with a few formulas found in a Chandoo posting on how to build a KPI dashboard. In one particular tutorial post, the tutorial describes how to create conditional formatting using triangle symbols to denote percentile values. This tutorial is found here:

http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/09/03/excel-kpi-dashboard-percentile-3/

I have looked many places within Excel and I cannot find the sideways triangle symbols that are used in the Implementation section of the post. Can any help me find where those are located?

Thank you in advance for your help. I really appreciate your help.

Sincerely,
greykitten

Good day greykitten

If you select the Conditional Formatting hyperlink on the Kpi page and scroll down to number 5 it explains how to do this.

Hi, greykitten!

To get the triangle-pointing-to-the-left character do this (assuming Win 7, otherwise approximate and try):

a) From Windows:
Start button
All programs
Accesories
System tools
Character map
Go down until you find it, U-25C4 it's the Unicode value
Select & Copy
Go to Excel & Paste

b) From Excel:
Go to Insert tab
Symbols group
Symbol icon
Font = normal text, Subset = Geometrical shapes
Go to the 1st row, penultimate char
Click on Insert

Regards!
