I am currently taken an Excel course and am enjoying learning more about it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips/tricks that they have learned and wish they had known earlier!

Thanks in advance.

Hi ,

Every new fact that you learn has some utility ; if you don't think that you wished you had known it earlier , it may be because you did not have any use or requirement for this piece of knowledge then.

After all , knowledge is acquired for the purpose of using it ; but when the occasion to use it will come up is difficult to anticipate.

I would therefore say that rather than concentrating on a few tips / tricks , start increasing your knowledge of all things Excel ; spending time on blogs is a good way , especially since some blog writers specialize in certain areas of Excel e.g. Contextures is a good source of knowledge on pivot tables , Peltiertech is a good source of knowledge on charting.

One general tip I can pass on is do not take the Microsoft Excel help as the final word on Excel ; it barely scratches the surface of what is possible with Excel.
