Timestamp in Excel Online

I create survey form in excel online. In the response excel sheet i want time stamp when every one response is in.

How to add time stamp?

If you are talking about using Excel Forms, which is linked with MS Forms for survey/quiz etc.

Response will automatically have start time and completion time of the survey by default.

Yes. This is the one. how to default it. I don't need the completion time. I want timestamp in column A.

No need to set anything.
Those columns are standard part of Ms form
linked with Excel.

Ah, my bad, should have realized that I have First Release turned on. Which replaces MS Survey with MS Forms.

MS Forms is accessible for Educational and Commercial subscription (as public preview/First Release). Check with your IT if it can be turned on for you.

MS Survey can have field added to track date, but does not have functionality to track time stamp of submission.

Alternate method is to leverage SharePoint, if your organization has access to it.
