Timesheet

Hello
I am trying to create a simple timesheet. Well, I thought it would be simple!
I need it to add my hours worked, subtract my break, then in a separate column have the hours/minutes worked in overtime

Start at 6:45am; break 30mins, finish at 17:55 = total hours worked, then subtract 7.6 for regular hours with the balance of overtime being accrued.

many thanks..

Hi Juanita ,

Clearly , it is not so simple.

Can you specify all of the following ?

1. Will the standard working hours start time and end time be just one , or will there be several shifts involved ? What I mean is , will the standard shift always start at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM , for example , or can the first shift start at 7:00 AM and end at 2:00 PM , the General shift start at 9:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM , the second shift start at .... and so on ?

2. Will the break time be only 1 , or can there be multiple breaks in one shift for each employee ?

3. Will the break times be uniform for all employees ?

Hello Narayan
The start and end times will be different each day with only one break.
The regular hours are 7.6 - Some days there will be no break.

I'm required to work 7.6 hrs per day with a 30 min break. I am currently working on a project which has me working over these hours. I have just been keeping a log of the hours worked over the 7.6.
My employer now wants my exact starting and finishing times recorded.

Hi Narayan
Wow! thank you - that is nearly want I'm after. except the break time isn't working properly. I'll try to explain it better for you.

My regular hours are 6:54am until 3pm and within in these hours I am entitled to take an unpaid 30 min break.
Some days I don't get to take a break or I might only have 15mins. If I only have 15mins - the 15mins that I worked instead will need to be in the OT column. So if I take less than 30 mins, I need to accrue the balance. I hope that makes it a bit clearer.

thanks Narayan.

Alias Narayan.. when I edit the break time - it changes it from .15 to 12:15:00 AM then the hours are incorrect.
my version of excel is Excel 2013. I kept having this problem when I was trying to create my own.
Do you know of anyone else having this problem.
