Timesheet with Circular Reference....Please help

Hello All

I am currently putting together a spreadsheet which details information on Drivers hours. Drivers shifts cover many different pay scales and times and most of this I've worked out.

However, dependent on the client there are times when drivers work less hours than normal and at these times the client pays them a minimum amount of hours. For example they work 6.5 hours then the client will automatically pay them for 8. This figure various from client to client.

The extra hours are always added to the end of a shift and attract the relevant rate of pay at that time. I have worked out how to calculate the extra time but as it refers directly to the finish time when I try to amend that time a circular reference appears. I understand why but don't know how to get round this except with a manual entry which defeats the whole purpose.

Hope I've explained myself properly, if not just ask and I'll attempt to post an example. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thank You

Hi ,

I can understand the circular reference , but can you explain the actual requirement in your spreadsheet ?

You are entering data relating to drivers' shifts ; I assume the bare minimum data will be the drivers' names , the dates and the times they were on duty.

With the above data entered , what would you like to do ?
