Time Zone formula, maybe based on zip codes?

Hi,

I've never posted before, but I've used this site for a long time, especially at work! Thanks for all you do Chandoo! :)

I'm wondering if there is a way to determine time zones from something like a zip code on a spreadsheet. We send outlook invites to several hundred people across the country for appointments, but as it is, I have to look up each time zone (if it's not an obvious answer). Can excel determine time zones? I'm also in the US. I don't know if that will factor in much.

Thank you for your help!

Hi kleannah,

A Google search revealed lots of links for this topic, including some VBA solutions.

Try the following link:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2456324/mapping-us-zip-code-to-time-zone

You could then setup a lookup table to decode the zipcode and state to timezone.

Cheers,

Sajan.
