Hello,

Is there a concise formula that would look at the number of digits in a number and insert the necessary number of zeroes required to bring the number of digits up to a certain length. An example would be that I have a column of what should be 10 digits numbers. However, some of the numbers had leading zeroes which have been dropped by Excel since Excel considers the format to be "General". I want to bring the number of total digits back up to 10 regardless of whether 2, 3 or 4 digits had been dropped by Excel.

Thank you in advance for any help,

Leimst

Sheter,

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong but when I apply that format Excel is adding a decimal points and the 10 zeroes after that. My "missing" zeroes are leading zeroes so consequently I need them at the front of the number sequence.

Any thoughts?

Montrey and sheter,

Thank you both for your assistance. That worked perfectly! I've never used Custom formatting so I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.

Thanks again,
