Subtotal With Wildcard character

Dear Sirs,

Is there any facility or code available that can
subtotal of fields based on wild card character ? like Advance filter , filters
rows with wild card character criteria?

if not, when this feature available in office's future versions as native , regular facility?

if advance filter give feature to filter rows based on criteria with wild card then how
same feature use in subtotal?

clearly I want to subtotal on filed "chnl", rows contain word "trs" for .sum of last 2 columns

Dear Sir @Chihiro,

Thanks for pointing towards good source of understand the things.

I will study that mind blowing concept that to learn how to effect on fix (waiting for result) structure based on dynamically changed database.

base on overview of that links, i can point towards that all links that there are last row reference is hard coded.

(like A1:A550) can it accept last row as dynamically (auto initialised last row address) like (A1:A & lastRow)?


One another point users should note that Subtotal function inherit 11 in built functions in it. so any one should not change whole formula when require to change/use another function just change Reference No in subtotal & function & this function do its job based on function number.


Though this is formula way, in future Microsoft can inherit this as native facility of subtotal on any field with wild card support like Advance filter accepts wild cards.

Hope there are some solution ..but before it I need to deep & re-study that 3 concept (Sumproduct, Subtotal, Offset).
