Substitute for Multiple Items

Hi,

I am currently using Substitute formula for multiple items / cells but it takes really long time to execute / calculate since I have more then 40,000 rows
Is there any way I can use substitute that will speed up this process

current formula in use is
=SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(Table1[[#This Row],[BU]],"PARTS","AMKT"),"SERV","AMKT"),"BM(HQ)","Others"),"GWS","Others"),"MARINE","Others"),"MFG","Others")

Yes, since I removed all other cells, it is working fast for me as well. I guess the other cells that I have formulas on are taking time to calculate.

Hi Fadil,

Inspect your worksheet. Is there any event driven macro or long array formulas or formulas with Volatile functions like (OFFSET, NOW, INDIRECT). May be other things are slowing down your worksheet.

yes, might be..

add to SM Sir,
- external link / formula ref may cause slow down your sheet.
- remove if you have full column ranges like A:A in your sheet.
