Stop counting dates once limit reached

Hello,
This formula is really bugging me and I gave myself the EOD to solve it, however not successful, so need some help from my trusted friends.

Objective
Calculate the number of units a student attends per month, however once the limit is reached in a particular month, adjust the count to ensure it doesn't exceed the limit.

I have attached a sample file that shows my calculations.

The CF works a treat, great suggestion.

I need to flip the table around so I have the names as columns and dates as rows. I have tried for a few hours to rework your formula without success!

Are you able to correct the formula please?
