Sorting multiple columns

I am creating a pictorial directory in Excel 2010. Format is simply 5 columns wide with columns 1 and 4 containing biographic data (name, title, manager name, etc) and pictures in 2 and 5. Column 3 is used as a separator and left blank. My problem is figuring out how to make the document sort so that columns 1 and 4 are in alpha order together (for example John Adams in column 1, Charlie Brown in column 4, Jimmy Carter in column 1, James Deen in column 4, etc.) and that the pictures stay with the correct bio details. I'm not sure if this is even possible in Excel but would love to hear any feedback and even recommendations on any other softwares that may be a better choice. TIA

Hi ,

First , the way your data has been laid out is not a good one for data processing ; rather than have a lot of information in each cell , try to separate the information into different fields i.e. in separate columns , so that each person has their information in 6 different columns labelled Name , Nickname / Title , Manager 1 , Manager 2 , Manager 3 , Picture.

I do not know why you have the layout so that there is data for one set of names in columns A and B , and data for another set of names in columns D and E ; can you not have one row for one name , and the next row for the next name ?
