Simple Questions - INDEX_MATCH to get the multiple values

I have the attached picture of a spread sheet I am working on. What I am looking for is a formula to count total team scores e.g. Reds, Greens & Blues. I have tried Vlookup and Index_Match but can only get the top score, not the combined which is what I am looking for.

Help greatly appreciated.

Hi ,

You need to use either the SUMIF function or the SUMPRODUCT function , as follows :

=SUMIF($B$2:$B$9 , "Reds" , $C$2:$C$9)

=SUMPRODUCT(($B$2:$B$9 = "Reds") * ($C$2:$C$9))
