Shortcut to Select/ Unselect all entries

Ljm

New Member
I am wondering if someone knows a shortcut to select unselect all entries of a filtered column.
I am a big fan of Ctrl L to create/ remove filter on a specified column.
Thanks

No, no positive result.
ALT E G > opens go to dialog box (the one you have with F5 command) ...
I do not see any clear reason to go to Special command since I need a shortcut...

Hi and thanks, this answer does not help me.
I expose my request again,
Once a filter is applied, I want to use a shortcut that allows me to select/ unselect the list of results proposed by the filter... In other words, I want to avoid to thick/ unthick the Select All / Blanks case a thousand times a day using a shortcut.

Hi Ljm,

If you uncheck select all option, your OK dialouge box is freeze. Than what you want to do.
One shortcut is apply filter by Ctrl+Shift+L, than go to header and press Alt+(down/up arrow) to pop up filter option box. Than you can uncheck select all option.

Regards!

Thanks again I am already using all those shortcuts... so no one knows if another shortcuts exists to select/ uselect all the boxes ...

Hi Ljim,

There is no built in shortcut to do that. Good news is you can customize it through VBA.

Here are the steps

1. Click on Record Macro. A small window should pop up.
2. Change the macro name as appropriate - say Unfilter_Column
3. In the shortcut key, press the required shortcut - say j
4. Choose : Store Macro in -> This Wokbook. Press Ok
5. Click on Stop Macro
6. Press Alt+F11. VBE Editor should open up.
Your recorded macro should essentially look like this :
Code:
    Sub Unfilter_column()
    '
    ' Unfilter_column
    '
    ' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+j
    '
    End Sub

7. Put the following code before "End Sub" in the above
Code:
 If Selection.CurrentRegion.Count = 1 Then Exit Sub
ActiveSheet.Range(Selection.CurrentRegion.Address).AutoFilter Field:=Selection.Column - Selection.CurrentRegion.Cells(1, 1).Column + 1

8. Now Ctrl+j will take out the filter in the column of the active cell.

But note that this wont work if your active cell is outside the filtered range.

Cheers,
BD
