Hello all, I am new fairly new to excel and I am trying to do a project which involves adjusting the shift work schedule my crew works.
-We work on a 6 days on 4 days off schedule, what i am trying to do is have a progressive excel sheet that shows which workers should be working which days with minimum manning. Our minimum manning at work would be as follows Day Shift- 3 people Evening shift- 3 people and Midnight shift- 2 people. As i said before we work 6 days on 4 days off so 2 days, 2 evenings and 2 midnights. So if there are 9 people that could be working a day shift i would like to have the schedule show three people that are on three people that are "primary" standbys to be called in and 3 "secondary" standbys.
currently there are 9 people in working with me, what i'm looking to do is have the spreadsheet show the following info.
1. Who is working that day
2.Who is on a primary standby position
3. who is on a secondary standby position
4. Adjust to peoples appointments or courses
5. adjust to peoples leave
The schedule changes constantly but is pre made for the entire fiscal year. I have been trying on my own to figure out how to do this but I am so new to excel i havent made any progress. Any help would be appreciated. If more information is needed i will try and give it.
