different names were arranged after commas and i want to seprate them ie.

abhishak,anurag,deelep,suresh

to

abhishak anurag deelep suresh

and should be saperated to beside colomn index.

i assumed that your all data is in Column A like this:

A1= abhishak,anurag,deeleep,suresh

A2= mohan,sohan,kailash

A3= ram,shyam,vimal,kailash,hari

A4= ajay,vijay

then

dear follow the following steps

1. select the coloumn A

2. Go to the data tab...

3. now select the Option "Text to Column"

4. now select "delimited" option and click on "next" button

5. now select "comma" option and select "Space" option (if there is space between two names with comma)

6. then click on "next" button

7. then click on "Finish" button

now you will see that you want....

i hope it is useful

Good day all

One of the new features in 2013 is flash fill, you have a column of names in A and in B type two of the first names and then hit enter, flash fill will do the rest for all the names, in C do the middle name if there are some and in D do the same for the last names. Great feature.

There is an entry by Ashish Koul in "The Vault" Section of this forum.

I have posted a link there to Rick Rothstein's generic formula solution. So now you have three options including Text to Columns.
