Removing formatting from phone numbers?

Hi Brian ,

The rough and ready method is to use the SUBSTITUTE function , as in :

=SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(H6,"(",""),")",""),"-","")," ","")+0

which will result in a number ; if you want the output to remain a text string , don't use the +0.

Narayan

How did you put your numbers?
(254) 702-4517
or
2547024517

if your number entered as (254) 702-4517 use the above formula by Sir Narayan

otherwise select the number range and press Ctrl+Shift+~ (~ is near by 1)
