Remove Pivot Table sections

Hi dear

How I able to remove sections of Pivot Table in Excel (i.e, remove Column and Values sections from Pivot Table), so just using Filter and rows :) or in other combinations for for my purpose in that moaner :)

let me say way I need to do that, suppose that either I am working in government department or a company, so each of those are in formally connection via letter :) sending and coming letter ... this is the idea .... in each day that department or company may send a few letters to other places ... so we have list of sending letters ... the idea behind why I what to arrange letters in pivot table is to find letters based on filters like "sending From, sending to" and find all letters and related information to them based on that filters ... in my try I finally found a way :) but just based on using of filter and row fields !! and now I have empty column and Value filed !! for this reason I like to remove these fields ... but really I don't know how !!

if you have any idea, I send you many thanks :) and good wishes :)to share your ideas to do this.

with respect

Hi ,

I have not understood your exact requirement , but does this link help ?

http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/access-help/add-move-or-remove-a-field-in-pivottable-or-pivotchart-view-HP003084387.aspx

It says :

[pre]
Code:
Hide / Remove a field

When you remove a field from the layout of a PivotTable view, data from the field is no longer displayed
but the field remains available in the field list for viewing.

Click the field label of the field that you want to remove from the view.
Press the DELETE key.

Note You can delete total fields and calculated detail fields from both the PivotTable view and the field list
by right-clicking the field and then clicking Delete on the shortcut menu.
[/pre]
