I have an excel workbook that our sales people use. Each sheet represents a customer. The first 5 rows give information on the company (name, address and contact information) Below that I have a column with the date that customer was contacted and the column next to it has notes.
My CEO wants the sales people to be able to send him a report on each customer that was contacted for the week(usually a 7 day period). Because the data is constantly being added to (notes and new customer sheets) and we have 100's of work sheets with each workbook I am not sure how collect this data unless I recalculate it. I need the customer's name, the date contact and the notes in a report (one row). My attempt(using sample data)& a pivot table in excel was successful but when I reopened my excel sheet after closing it I get the following error " Excel found unreadable content. Do you want to recover the contents or this workbook? If you trust the source of the workbook click yes." I click yes the then my workbook removed my PivotTable reports.
Do I need to have the dates notes in a table? Do you do this using a pivot table or is there a better way to collect this information. I would prefer that the sale people are able to get the information by just changing the date range and then coping the report to a new spread sheet.
