Protecting worksheet in Excel 2010 - cant enable slicers

hi there

I need to protect a worksheet that has the following elements: pivot table and slicers.

I need users to be able to select values on the slicers (there are 5 driving the pivot table data) but not change the pivot table layout or elements. They should be able to see the pivot table data however. When I try unlocking the slicer objects and protecting the sheet I get the following error: That command cannot be performed on a protected sheet because the source data for this PivotTable report requires a data refresh.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Hi,

I am currently dealing with the exact same issue.
This problem is both in Excel 2010 and 2013.
Is there a solution for this?

Thanks,
Edgar

Thanks. Yes, I''ve done that. The slicer works, that means it responds when you click on it, while the rest of the worksheet is protected. The problem now is that a data refresh is not allowed...
