Protect Sheet with expansion buttons

Hi! Is there a way anyone knows of to protect worksheets that contain expansion/collapse buttons?

1) When I group columns to create a collapsible section and then protect a sheet to limit users' ability to modify formulas, it removes the ability to expand the grouped columns.
2) Similarly, when I create a pivot chart with expansion/collapse buttons, I am no longer able to use the buttons once the worksheet is protected. Any advice is much appreciated, thank you!

1) When you protect a sheet in Excel, it restricts certain functionalities, including the ability to expand grouped columns. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of Excel's protection features. You might need to find a workaround, such as unprotecting the sheet temporarily when you need to expand the grouped columns.

2) Protecting a worksheet in Excel can indeed affect the functionality of certain features, including pivot chart expansion/collapse buttons. To retain the ability to use these buttons, you may need to leave the sheet unprotected while working with the pivot chart or consider using macros to automate protection and unprotection based on your needs.
