I am working with the project timeline template from Chandoo and I have one set up. Is there any way to rotate the time line so the dates are on the Y-axis and the milestone bars come out horizontal? Basically I want to rotate the whole time.
 
If you change it to a bar chart, does that work?


Side note, I'd discourage the use of dates on the y-axis. General chart convention is to plot time going from left to right on the x-axis. This also gives the most room for the data labels, so the text doesn't have to go at an angle.
 
I agree with Luke M's side note. Convention states that you put the independent variable (time) on the x axis and the dependent variable (milestones) on the y axis.
