Project Management Dashboard

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently putting together a dashboard to manage my companies IT projects. We currently have between 30-50 ongoing IT projects that status updates are presented on bi-weekly basis.

I have put together a rudimentary dashboard but I'm struggling with a few things. Most importantly, can someone please advise what would be the best way to make the dashboard dynamic so that by clicking on the project buttons on the left a new dashboard is populated in C:6 to M:25. I've tried the camera function but that doesn't seem to allow me to just copy those cells.

Here is the file.

Also, I'm completely open to anyone's suggestion on how to improve and accomplish my goal.

Thanks,

Hi ,

Can you see your file here ?

Some formulae can help display the information from each project sheet tab onto your dashboard.

Can you specify what information from the individual project sheets should come onto the dashboard ?

Thanks Narayan, I can see the file.

I would like to be able to be able to show everything from B2 to L19 on the Project Two work sheet. This includes the chart. I was thinking of building a macro around cutting and pasting the different projects but was hoping there was a better way.

I think the attached will get you on your way. Everything that it does I learned here from Chandoo, both in the free and paid services. If you are at all serious about xl, then I would highly recommend the classes. Anyways...

*I made some assumptions and filled in random data for the rest of the projects

*Data is now organized in the data tab

*On Dashboard tab, user clicks what project and the info is dynamically updated

-A little vba code and it can do wonders, so check that out

-Sheet3 will change dynamically with the user selection. Uses simple, yet extremely powerful index and offset formulas. Knowing those are priceless when making dynamic dashboards.

*Just did some other formatting, cleaning up the axis on the budge chart, added a budget variance cell, think that's all

Hope that helps you get in the right direction
